The Master of Occupational Health and Safety (MOHS) is a multidisciplinary graduate program offering in-depth exploration of various occupational health and safety domains. As the inaugural program in Atlantic Canada and the fourth nationwide, it leverages Memorial University's decade-long specialization in this field. The curriculum addresses a well-documented need across Newfoundland and Labrador as well as other Canadian regions.

This program equips students, safety professionals, risk management experts, and HR leaders with contemporary analytical tools and knowledge, preparing them for either further academic pursuits or leadership roles in regulatory bodies, corporate sectors, public institutions, and advocacy groups. Please note this program does not qualify for financial assistance.

Coursework encompasses diverse OHS topics through an interdisciplinary lens, emphasizing historical contexts, social dimensions, workplace structures, injury/disease epidemiology, preventive measures, ergonomic principles, and industrial hygiene practices.

Students may enroll either full-time or part-time. Degree requirements include completing 24 credit hours of study, culminating with a capstone research project in OHS 6001.
