The English Department comprises 23 full-time faculty members who form a vibrant, research-driven community dedicated to literary scholarship, creative writing, and graduate mentorship.
Ten specialized research clusters highlight key areas of expertise, connecting students with faculty in these fields: American, Canadian, Colonial and Postcolonial, Creative Writing, Eighteenth and Nineteenth Century Studies, Environmental and Energy Humanities, Medieval and Early Modern Studies, Newfoundland and Labrador Studies, North Atlantic Studies, and Visual Narrative Studies. This broad spectrum of research specialties creates a stimulating and collaborative academic atmosphere for both faculty and students.
