Our graduate studies include three distinct programs: a 12-month MA focused on coursework without fieldwork, an MA with thesis requiring ethnographic research, and a PhD program also involving ethnographic fieldwork. Additionally, we provide a one-year graduate diploma option that doesn't involve research components.
Alumni from our graduate programs have pursued diverse career paths, including professional anthropology, as well as fields like journalism, documentary production, and policy development. The Department has increasingly incorporated visual anthropology methods, enabling many students to create ethnographic films alongside their thesis work.
The graduate diploma serves as an alternative for those seeking specialized graduate-level training without undertaking a complete master's degree. This flexible option helps students deepen their disciplinary expertise or advance their professional skills.
