The Bachelor of Environment and Sustainability (BES) program connects scientific understanding of natural resources with policy creation and stewardship. This four-year degree features two specializations: Environmental Studies and Resource Management.
Our daily lives rely profoundly on the environment - for nourishment, livelihoods, leisure activities, and materials for housing, mobility, and products. Coming generations will inherit this same dependence; we must manage current resource usage thoughtfully to preserve access for those who follow.
The BES program develops students' analytical abilities and decision-making frameworks for sustainable environmental use. All students complete core coursework across four years, while Environmental Studies students supplement with social science courses (economics, political science, geography) and Resource Management students focus on scientific approaches (GIS, resource dynamics, quantitative analysis).
