Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioners (PHC NPs) are specialized registered nurses focused on delivering comprehensive, accessible primary care to patients across all age groups. These advanced practice nurses possess extensive clinical experience and additional training that equips them to offer holistic health services, including wellness promotion, illness prevention, treatment, recovery support, and rehabilitation for individuals, families, and communities.
This postgraduate diploma program accepts applicants who hold a master's degree featuring clinical nursing coursework (MSc or MN).
McMaster University collaborates with eight other Ontario institutions through the Council of Ontario University Programs in Nursing (COUPN) to deliver the Ontario Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner program.
