This program offers registered nurses with a Master of Nursing degree the chance to earn a Nurse Practitioner certification. Participants must fulfill 30 credit units of coursework and complete at least 720 hours of practical training. The curriculum is structured for completion in six consecutive terms or through part-time study over three years. Upon graduation, students will qualify to take either the Canadian Nurse Practitioner examination or the American Academy of Nurse Practitioner Certification Board test.
The P.G.D.S.C. Nurse Practitioner program focuses on developing specialized competencies while establishing the theoretical foundation required for nurse practitioner practice. Those who complete the P.G.D.S.C. program can seek employment beyond Saskatchewan's borders. This nationally recognized certification not only advances individual careers but also draws applicants from throughout Canada, expanding the program's reach and diversity.
