Begin a rewarding journey to become a skilled social worker through a specialized degree program designed to enhance your abilities and knowledge in creating meaningful change for people and communities. This opportunity is available to candidates with a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, delivered via our two-year post-degree BSW program.
The curriculum teaches analytical approaches for examining individual, familial, communal, and societal concerns, along with insights into how social work and welfare systems address these problems. Students also gain hands-on experience in key areas including client interviews, therapeutic guidance, neighborhood improvement initiatives, social movements, and policy support.
Our School of Social Work commits to offering undergraduate learners the necessary academic setting and tools to equip them for the diverse realm of social work. The program's foundation rests firmly on social equity values.
Social work professionals serve in numerous settings, delivering vital support and representation to people, family units, and populations. Their work spans multiple domains including medical services, youth protection, psychological wellbeing, academic institutions, urban planning, legal systems, elder care, recovery programs, end-of-life services, and global humanitarian efforts.
Entry requirements may vary from country to country. Students are required to complete Grade 12 high school diploma equivalent to Canadian qualification.
Completion of an undergraduate degree from a recognized university, including six units of Introductory Social Work or Sociology and six additional units of introductory level courses from the Course List (or equivalent). Applicants must have a minimum average of 6.0 on the most recent 30 units (five full credits) of university-level courses completed and evidence of personal suitability which may be evaluated by one or a combination of written statements, tests or interviews.
English Language Proficiency
IELTS - International English Language Testing System (Academic): 6.5 Overall with a minimum of 6.0 in each of the four components (Reading, Writing, Speaking, Listening); results valid for 2 years
CAE - Cambridge English Advanced: 190 Overall with minimum score of 180 in each component; valid for 2 years
PTE - Pearson Test of English Academic: 60 Overall with minimum score of 60 in Writing and Speaking; valid for 2 years
CAEL - Canadian Academic English Language: 70 Overall with no component score below 60; valid for 2 years
MELAB - Michigan English Language Assessment Battery: 85 Overall valid for 2 years; Minimum 80 in each of the three required components; Minimum 3 in optional speaking component (Required).
TOEFL - Test of English as a Foreign Language IBT: 86 Overall with a minimum score of 20 in each of the four components (Reading, Writing, Speaking, Listening); valid for 2 years
