Chemical Biology explores biological challenges by applying chemical methods and concepts. Learners examine both small synthetic molecules like pharmaceuticals and large biomolecules such as proteins. The curriculum emphasizes understanding molecular interactions between proteins and drugs from a chemical perspective, employing organic chemistry principles to explain these processes. Analytical chemistry methods are utilized to quantify these molecular interactions. This program equips students for advanced studies in graduate, medical, or pharmacy programs, along with diverse career opportunities in pharmaceutical research, immunology, materials science, polymer engineering, and biochemical fields.
