McMaster University provides diverse Honours degree options in Mathematics and Statistics. Students can choose from a flexible core program that accommodates interdisciplinary interests, specialized tracks in Mathematics, Actuarial and Financial Mathematics, and Statistics for more concentrated study, or various joint Honours and Co-op programs.
Admission to these programs is available either through the Level 1 Mathematics and Statistics pathway or any other Level 1 university program, given the student has successfully completed MATH 1A03, 1AA3, and 1B03 (with satisfactory grades). Prospective Math & Stats majors are encouraged to begin with Level 1 Math & Stats, as this pathway offers tailored courses (MATH 1X03, 1XX3, and 1C03) designed specifically for math-focused students while maintaining full flexibility in elective choices.
