Forecast future scenarios, address risk-related challenges, and shape financial strategies that influence businesses, societies, and investment portfolios. This dual-degree program provides a streamlined route to becoming an actuary with expertise in financial services. Throughout the curriculum, you'll complete all Actuarial Mathematics requirements: mastering statistical analysis, probability theory, and quantitative modeling techniques to tackle unpredictable situations. Simultaneously, you'll integrate business courses from the John Molson School of Business, covering accounting, economics, and financial principles to understand how time, capital, and risk factors impact wealth accumulation.
You also have the option to participate in the Co-op program, gaining hands-on experience alongside professional actuaries managing insurance systems, retirement programs, and employee benefit schemes. Upon graduation, you'll join a high-demand profession seeking actuarial finance experts. Our curriculum holds provisional accreditation from the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (CIA). Graduates qualify for waivers on four entry-level certification exams administered by both the Society of Actuaries and the Casualty Actuarial Society. The Society of Actuaries recognizes Concordia University as a Center of Actuarial Excellence.
