For those with an endless craving for sweets or a fondness for freshly baked bread, students enrolled in LaSalle College Vancouver's Baking and Pastry Arts program are united by their enthusiasm for creating exquisite pastries and desserts. The diploma program covers techniques for preparing both yeast-based and sweet doughs, while the pastry coursework teaches traditional creams, custards, fillings, along with methods for crafting mousses, tarts, and cakes.
The curriculum includes instruction on precise measurements, temperature control, artistic decoration, and the production of hearth and artisanal breads. Participants also gain hands-on experience by preparing and distributing baked goods across campus departments daily - offering a true-to-life bakery experience. Additional practical training comes through industry internships and involvement in the student-operated campus restaurant.
Prospective students who wish to attend LaSalle College Vancouver and do not qualify as a mature student must have successfully completed the requirements for secondary school graduation or equivalent, as set by the recognized legal authority in the jurisdiction where secondary school was completed.
