Langara's Arts & Science (Engineering) Certificate is a BCCAT-recognized program that aligns with the University of British Columbia's first-year engineering curriculum. These courses meet UBC's Faculty of Applied Science criteria for engineering transfer status when finished within a standard two-semester academic year.
At Langara, this Engineering Certificate can count as the initial year toward earning either an Arts and Science Diploma or an Associate of Science Degree. Students receive the certificate after completing all required courses with at least a 2.5 CGPA, which must be achieved within five consecutive semesters maximum.

A minimum C+ grade in PHYS 1118 at Langara College, or
Physics Diagnostic Test results allowing registration into PHYS 1125.
3. One of the following-
A minimum B grade in Precalculus 12 or equivalent,
A minimum C+ grade in Precalculus 12 and a minimum C- grade in Calculus 12,
A minimum C+ grade in MATH 1170 at Langara College, or
A minimum score of 90 on the Mathematics Diagnostic Test.
One of the following-
A minimum B grade in Chemistry 12 or equivalent, or
A minimum C+ grade in CHEM 1118 at Langara College.
