The Lambton College Interprofessional Practice - Gerontology Graduate Certificate equips students to provide collaborative, patient-focused care for older adults and their families in complex or long-term care settings across Canada. Through this program, learners cultivate expertise in team-based approaches to comprehensive patient evaluation and family-centered care planning. The curriculum explores age-related transformations in social, psychological, and biological functioning, examining how these changes affect individuals' interactions with their surroundings and care requirements. To integrate their learning, students undertake both an interprofessional community placement and a capstone research project. This combination of academic training and practical experience prepares graduates for diverse career opportunities in senior care facilities, retirement communities, home support services, research institutions, and various other Canadian healthcare environments.
