Develop the skills to become a vital part of a veterinary healthcare team through active learning.
At Lakeland College, gain practical clinical training under the guidance of experienced veterinarians and veterinary technicians.
Your training covers both companion and farm animals. You'll gain experience with SPCA and client-owned dogs and cats, as well as the college's livestock including sheep, cattle, and horses.
Our cutting-edge animal health clinic holds provincial and national accreditation. Here, you'll apply your classroom knowledge in real-world scenarios such as:
applying anatomical knowledge to capture diagnostic X-rays
performing clinical laboratory tests on collected blood and urine samples
administering IV catheterization and observing anesthesia during surgical procedures
consulting with pet owners about animal health and dietary needs
The clinic enhances student-driven learning opportunities. The Animal Health Technology program features two levels of Student-Led Clinics.
