Pursuing Pre-veterinary medicine at Dalhousie's Agricultural Campus in Truro, Nova Scotia launches your journey into the animal healthcare field. Our specialized curriculum in animal physiology, nutrition, behavior, and welfare distinguishes us from general biology or zoology programs. The coursework mirrors what you'll encounter in veterinary school.
This program equips you with the necessary prerequisites to apply for any Canadian Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) program, including the Atlantic Veterinary College (Charlottetown, PEI) or Ontario Veterinary College (Guelph, Ontario).
Your first year includes core courses in biology, chemistry, calculus, and English, alongside electives such as agricultural ecosystems or microeconomics principles. Learning occurs through diverse formats including lectures, labs, and tutorials. Second year expands your elective choices for greater specialization.
