Join the veterinary healthcare team by earning your two-year Veterinary Technology Diploma. This program combines classroom learning with hands-on practice in areas like surgical nursing, anesthesia, anatomy, radiography, dental care, lab techniques, animal nutrition, medication management, and professional communication. Gain real-world experience through campus labs and off-site rotations at veterinary hospitals, equine facilities, agricultural operations, and animal shelters.
After completing the program, you'll qualify to take the Veterinary Technician National Examination (VTNE). Successful candidates can register as a Registered Veterinary Technologist across Canada and numerous U.S. states. Douglas VTEC graduates automatically qualify for the Kristianson Veterinary Technology National Exam Bursary, which covers the full examination fee.
