This program provides a direct route to a fulfilling career in animal healthcare. You'll receive instruction from licensed Veterinary Technicians and Veterinarians, while gaining hands-on experience through clinical placements.
Recognized by the Ontario Association of Veterinary Technicians, graduates become eligible to take the Veterinary Technician National Examination.
Our program emphasizes compassionate veterinary education, prioritizing manikins over live animals for training whenever feasible. Through these models, you'll develop precision in essential techniques like bandaging, catheter insertion, and intubation. Live animal experience is gained during semester-long clinical placements.
The program features extensive practical training, with weekly practicum days and intensive two-week placements. Students work directly with animals needing medical attention, developing professional competencies that employers actively seek. Note that a rabies vaccination and background check are mandatory before starting placements.
