The Sociology Department provides an advanced degree program focused on expanding students' understanding of their social environments while developing autonomous, analytical thinking about crucial societal matters. Our curriculum now includes a course-based graduate option in Sociology, available both in the general program and within our three specialized tracks. After completing their initial semester, students may apply to transition into the thesis stream.
A Sociology degree serves as excellent preparation for various professions including social work, legal practice, media, and healthcare. Graduates often pursue careers in education, vocational guidance, public administration, correctional facilities, community organizations, and corporate sectors. With strong research training, sociology graduates are frequently recruited by diverse institutions for data collection and analysis. This field examines all dimensions of human interaction, from personal bonds to organizational structures and broad societal patterns. Sociologists explore numerous critical topics such as healthcare systems, family structures, criminal behavior, technological impacts, cultural trends, economic relationships, gender studies, educational systems, social stratification, and various forms of bias and exclusion.
