The Natural Resources Management PhD program emphasizes research, cultivating expertise in forest science disciplines. Key study areas encompass: biodiversity in woodland ecosystems; conservation and evolutionary biology; forest ecology and ecosystem dynamics; forest pest and disease management; wildfire ecology and control; forestry economics and operations; recreational forest use; soil science and preservation; genetic enhancement of tree species; ecological population studies; aerial imaging techniques; sustainable silviculture practices; tree biology and growth processes; watershed and hydrological studies; wildlife habitat preservation; and timber science applications.
Participants must fulfill program requirements within 3-4 years (9-12 terms) of continuous full-time enrollment, with a mandatory 3-term residence period including at least two consecutive terms.
