Our program focuses on hands-on field biology, offering diverse experiential learning options such as laboratory sessions and research internships. Annually, you can select electives from various Faculties to enhance your Biology studies, developing a comprehensive, interdisciplinary grasp of living organisms and ecosystems. Many Outdoor Recreation careers demand foundational biology knowledge—this program provides that training while allowing you to pair a Natural Science degree with an Honours Bachelor of Outdoor Recreation.
The three-year Natural Science program, housed in the Biology Department, eliminates Chemistry and Mathematics prerequisites and features fewer theory-heavy courses than standard Biology programs. Ideal for applicants seeking biological fundamentals without a "career-scientist" path, this program equips graduates to: Grasp core life system principles and biodiversity, Achieve strong biological literacy, Comprehend organisms' environmental roles and relationships, and Develop refined critical thinking and reflective practice abilities.
