Biology explores plants, animals, and life's diversity through an evolutionary lens. As a Biology student, you'll discover how organisms interact, how traits are passed down, evolutionary processes, and more. Our programs emphasize practical learning with research and fieldwork integrated into nearly every course to complement classroom instruction. You'll explore core biological concepts such as: Structure and Function, Cellular and Molecular Biology, Heredity, Evolutionary Theory, Species Diversity, Classification Systems, Ecosystems, and Environmental Biology. Tailor your Biology education to align with your career goals—whether preparing for a professional biology career or combining biological studies with Chemistry, Geography, Environmental Studies, or Outdoor Recreation, Parks & Tourism.
Our intimate department size enables direct involvement in faculty research spanning ecology to biorefining. Graduates pursue diverse paths including advanced studies in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, veterinary science, or graduate programs.
Students can access Biology internships and research assistant roles during summer or academic terms as opportunities arise. Combining work experience with hands-on labs and lectures provides exceptional value.
