Students gain the expertise and competencies needed to deliver emergency medical care outside hospital settings and serve as vital members of healthcare teams treating trauma and illness patients. Program graduates will have proven their capability to provide safe, effective care to diverse populations in both emergency and routine scenarios. They'll be qualified to perform medical procedures, including regulated medical interventions, while delivering empathetic patient care. The curriculum combines classroom instruction, lab work, hospital clinical rotations, and field placements. Upon completion, graduates qualify to take Ontario's Advanced Emergency Medical Care Assistant (A.E.M.C.A.) certification exam. Passing this exam enables employment with paramedic services and various organizations across Canada. Career prospects also exist in occupational health and safety, event medical coverage, and military service. Important note: Paramedic positions in Ontario mandate a valid class 'F' driver's license, which graduates must obtain before applying for jobs.
