The Honours Bachelor of Police Studies program fosters a comprehensive, critical perspective on policing's nature, role, and functions. Learners will examine diverse subjects that open doors to law enforcement careers. The curriculum emphasizes an interdisciplinary approach to police training, equipping students from varied backgrounds with the essential blend of professional competence, legal-technical knowledge, and analytical abilities required for justice sector roles. This multifaceted program enhances rather than replicates current educational offerings, featuring courses that promote progressive cognitive development through innovative design, purpose, and teaching methods. The learning objectives are carefully aligned with law enforcement's rigorous professional expectations. Graduates will be equipped for multiple career and academic pathways, with primary employment options in the Ontario Provincial Police and municipal police forces. Additional opportunities exist with interprovincial police agencies, the RCMP, Canadian military, municipal by-law enforcement, private security and investigation firms, Canada Border Services, and correctional services.
