The four-year Bachelor of Public Safety (Honours) program delivers both theoretical knowledge and practical training, equipping students with a structured methodology for addressing public safety challenges. This includes responding to, managing, and examining both human-caused and natural risks affecting people, cybersecurity, vital infrastructure, businesses, and governmental entities.
The curriculum grounds public safety fundamentals in Canadian legal frameworks. Through a blend of classroom learning, hands-on experiences, research projects, and cooperative work terms, students gain valuable work-integrated education while honing their investigative abilities and analytical thinking. The program fosters teamwork skills by employing collaborative methods to tackle public safety scenarios.
Participants additionally acquire practical experience via paid cooperative education placements (refer to Additional Information section). Note that co-op positions depend on availability and meeting academic requirements. Enrollment in the co-op program doesn't automatically secure a placement opportunity.
