Over your four-year journey, you'll engage with the justice system at multiple levels: understanding legal frameworks, interacting with individuals and communities, and gaining practical experience in crime scene investigation and arrest procedures. Develop essential competencies for justice-related careers, including analytical reasoning, research techniques, and effective communication.
Your initial year establishes core knowledge in justice studies and connected disciplines. The second year introduces specialized coursework covering service delivery systems like counseling, mediation, forensic science, and police work. During this year, you'll choose between two diploma specializations:
Community and Justice Services, which examines societal challenges and community initiative development, including working with both victims and offenders while implementing crime reduction strategies Or Police Foundations
Equips you for careers across Canada's law enforcement spectrum. The final two years feature advanced coursework diving into complex topics like professional ethics, social equity, constitutional rights, juvenile justice, and criminal behavior studies.

Qualification Requirements

Students applying for admission on the basis of the IB Diploma should possess a minimum score of 24 Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent Senior Matriculation Certificates, (Alberta Grade 12, G.C.E. etc.) Students currently enrolled in their final secondary school year in Ontario are not required to submit documentation as decisions for early admission are based on interim grades reported by the secondary school to the OUAC. Official transcripts of all academic work taken at the post-secondary level (e.g. university, college, private school, etc.). Transcript of marks from the last secondary school attended. Any other documents demonstrating academic results or ability, or explaining the level of academic performance.
