Through interactive demonstrations, hands-on kitchen labs, classroom instruction, and immersive learning, you'll acquire the essential skills to begin your career in culinary arts or management. The curriculum explores current culinary innovations including farm-to-table practices, nutritional science, and global gastronomic influences. Additionally, you'll cultivate interpersonal abilities crucial for culinary success and leadership competencies necessary for business operations. A work placement component offers valuable exposure to professional kitchens and mentorship from industry experts.
This program fulfills all in-school requirements for the Cook Apprenticeship program under Ontario's Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development (MLITSD).
