The Personal Support Worker (PSW) program equips students with essential caregiving skills to support elderly individuals, those with chronic illnesses, and people facing mobility limitations. Clients may receive care in their homes, nursing facilities, or certain outpatient environments.

This two-term program offers classes at our modern Daphne Cockwell Centre for Health Sciences on Waterfront Campus, with sessions running from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. The curriculum includes supervised clinical placements at diverse healthcare locations throughout the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), with potential daytime or evening shifts based on placement requirements.

Graduates of George Brown College's PSW program can pursue opportunities in multiple healthcare environments including: outpatient clinics, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, community organizations, hospital departments, and hospice care centers

Qualification Requirements

Applicants are selected on the basis of their academic achievement, including the required courses, and any other selection criteria outlined below. Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent grade 12 English (C or U) IELTS - 6.0, minimum 5.5 in each skill band. TOEFL iBT - 80 (online) minimum 20 in each skill band.
