Ceramic creations encompass all aspects of design and artistic expression, integrating technology, materials, and the creator's vision. Expert ceramic artists and designers will guide you in channeling your creativity through clay. As you advance from introductory courses to specialized projects, you'll cultivate analytical skills and technical proficiency in ceramics. Our focus on methodology equips you with comprehensive clay-working abilities, including wheel throwing, handbuilding techniques, material knowledge, glaze chemistry, and firing processes. Additionally, you'll gain thorough training in applied design principles, ceramic history, plus practical knowledge of studio management, marketing strategies, and professional portfolio creation.
You'll enjoy dedicated access to an electric wheel and spacious workspace in our fully-equipped studio facility. The creative space includes a properly ventilated glaze laboratory, application booth, and kiln area featuring diverse electric kilns such as oval, circular, burnout, and raku models.
Our intensive 15-week certificate programs, equivalent to two full-time semesters, offer more than 600 hours of practical studio experience. Weekly rotations allow you to learn from different instructors, each contributing their specialized knowledge and artistic approach. Small class sizes guarantee ample equipment access and faculty interaction. You'll also receive support from skilled studio technicians and benefit from extended studio hours beyond scheduled classes.
