Northern's Mechanical Engineering Technician program equips you with industry-ready skills in just two years, opening doors to diverse sectors including mining, oil and gas, forestry, automotive, and construction.
As a Mechanical Engineering Technician, you'll deliver vital technical assistance, working on everything from machine design and development to testing, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems, tools, engines, and HVAC equipment.
The program provides intensive practical training in a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility featuring cutting-edge scanners, printers, milling machines, and lathes. You'll also master creating professional sketches, technical layouts, 2D drawings, and 3D models.
To be eligible you must possess the equivalent of an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).
Proof of Senior High School Diploma/Certificate
English Proficiency (we will require one of the following): IELTS Academic International English Language Testing System: a minimum overall score of 6.0 must be achieved with no individual band score under 6.0; however, we will accept one band at 5.5; TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) – Computer-based overall minimum score of 79; PTE (Pearson Test of English) Academic – Graduate Diploma: 58+.
