Fanshawe stands as Ontario's premier institution for law enforcement education. This rigorous program spans two 15-week semesters, both culminating in a five-week practical placement that provides hands-on experience with policing, investigative, and security organizations.
You'll expand your expertise and abilities to align with employer demands. Developed in collaboration with professionals from law enforcement, corrections, investigations, and the CBSA, the curriculum directly responds to industry requirements. Graduates will meet physical fitness benchmarks, master defensive strategies, develop mental health competency, learn crisis response and conflict resolution, maintain proper documentation, enhance professional communication, and gain courtroom testimony skills.
Specialized training covers regulatory compliance, high-security environments, and border control operations.
The program also teaches investigative methods such as pedestrian and vehicular tracking, along with surveillance technology applications.
The main entry point to the Advanced Law Enforcement, Investigations and Security program is through the two-year Protection, Security and Investigation diploma.
Alternative pathways include the Police Foundations diploma or related academic backgrounds (such as a university criminology degree).
