The Environmental Technology program is a three-year advanced diploma from an Ontario college, featuring integrated co-op opportunities. During three academic years supplemented by 12-16 months of paid co-op work, students will master environmental systems while acquiring fundamental expertise in atmospheric, aquatic, and waste management challenges. The program covers diverse subjects including microbial studies, chemical analysis, atmospheric science, aquatic systems control, occupational health, and groundwater science, with particular focus on monitoring methodologies and regulatory frameworks for environmental media.
Graduates will possess a distinct advantage through their combination of theoretical understanding, practical experience with advanced equipment, and real-world applications gained during this environmental studies program.
This comprehensive three-year curriculum establishes fundamental proficiency in Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, and Biology, while specializing in atmospheric, water, and wastewater management principles. The program particularly emphasizes rigorous training in environmental measurement protocols, analytical techniques, and regulatory standards governing air, water, and waste systems.
Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), or equivalent, or a mature applicant with the following courses:
- Grade 11 or 12 Chemistry (C or U)
- Grade 11 Math (M or U) or Grade 12 Math (U or C) with a minimum final grade of 60
- MCT4C is the preferred academic preparation for this program
English Language Requirements:
Applicants whose first language is not English will be required to demonstrate proficiency in English by one of the following methods:
International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic test with an overall score of 6.0 with no score less than 5.5 in any of the four bands, with test results within the last two years.
