Environmental Science explores the interconnected study of natural systems and their interactions with human society.
There's increasing demand for professionals who can identify, analyze, address, and mitigate ecological challenges.
The University of Ottawa's Environmental Science curriculum combines fundamental scientific fields (such as biology, geology, chemistry, and physics) to examine natural ecosystems and human influences. The program features essential science coursework alongside interdisciplinary classes covering both technical and social dimensions of environmental issues. Students can choose from three concentration options: biodiversity preservation; climate change studies; or geochemical processes and toxicology. The culminating experience involves either an original research undertaking or specialized upper-level coursework in the chosen focus area.
