Associate degrees typically require two years of study focused on a specific subject. By strategically planning your coursework with university transfer in mind, you can apply all 60 credits toward a bachelor's program. Generally, this allows students to begin at the third-year level of a four-year degree. For guaranteed credit transfer, consult the BC Transfer Guide. To specialize within the Associate Degree, students must complete at least 18 credits (from the required 60) in one discipline, with a minimum of nine credits at the second-year level. A specialized Associate of Arts Degree can serve as a pathway to Major or Minor BA programs at universities.
