This one-year introductory pathway lets you investigate diverse fields within humanities and social sciences to identify your interests and talents before selecting a major or combined major program. Examine potential program transfers by selecting foundation courses in various disciplines including Criminology, English, Urban Sustainability, Geography, History, Intercultural Studies, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, and Sociology.
Complete two mandatory courses: Academic Writing and Research, along with Critical Thinking.
Select optional courses from numerous fields such as media studies, legal studies, business, and natural sciences – several of which may count toward a minor specialization.
Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent with a minimum of six Grade 12 U or M courses including some program specific requirements. Typically, a minimum overall average of 70% establishes eligibility for admission consideration; subject to competition individual programs may require higher prerequisite grades and/or higher overall averages:
A minimum grade of 70% or higher will be required in Grade 12 U English/anglais (ENG4U/EAE4U preferred).
Undeclared Arts is an entry option only. By February of your second semester, you must indicate which one of the ten programs you wish to pursue. All program transfers are considered on a competitive basis and are subject to program capacity.
English language requirements: IELTS: 6.5, TOEFL: 92-93 Internet-based, CAEL score of 70 and PTE score of 60, Cambridge English - 180 and above on C1 Advanced and C2 Proficiency.
February 1 is the guaranteed consideration date for applications to all programs.
