We aim to conduct fundamental and translational research focused on obesity, diabetes, polycystic ovary syndrome, and fertility issues.
Our work leverages cutting-edge technology for cellular, molecular, and in vivo studies, along with clinical resources from the IWK Health Centre's Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Current research initiatives involve:
investigating ghrelin's role in insulin resistance and weight gain
studying feeding patterns and hormonal imbalances in Alzheimer's mouse models
discovering follicular fluid biomarkers for oocyte quality assessment
examining ProApelin processing and apelin's function in fat cell development
