The Master of Marine Management is an interdisciplinary professional degree that combines hands-on research with core coursework in marine and social sciences, along with selected electives from marine-related disciplines. Key topics covered encompass arctic environmental studies, climate resilience strategies, coastal tourism, collaborative resource management, non-renewable resource development, sustainable seafood certification, ecosystem-based approaches, fisheries governance, indigenous knowledge integration, coastal zone planning, marine conservation efforts, ocean law and policy, protected marine areas, maritime spatial organization, law enforcement at sea, shipping logistics, risk assessment, and ocean policy frameworks. Candidates must complete a management-focused graduate research project.
This program commences each September with an intimate cohort (typically 20-25 students annually) who undertake a blend of mandatory core subjects and graduate-level electives. Admission is exclusively available for the fall semester, with no winter or summer intake options.
