The Electrical Engineering Technician program equips students with comprehensive electrical skills, preparing them for diverse roles across power systems, automation controls, and related fields. Alongside building a strong theoretical foundation, participants enjoy enhanced career adaptability and the chance to pursue multiple electrical specializations. Hands-on training covers electric motors, control systems, PLCs, transformers, and their industrial uses. Theoretical electrical concepts are reinforced through practical work in power distribution, industrial electronics, instrumentation, PLC programming, and motor control technologies. Learners engage with high-power electrical machinery, including motors, generators, and transformers, mastering various industrial implementations. Significant focus is given to developing, executing, and debugging PLC programs while effectively conveying technical details. Program completers fulfill technical roles across the energy sector, particularly assisting with research, innovation, and design at a certified technologist standard. The Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT) provisionally accredits this program as fulfilling all educational prerequisites for Certified Technician (C.Tech.) status.

Alumni secure positions applying their diagnostic and repair expertise in motor servicing, quality assurance, and electrical construction/maintenance apprenticeships. Additional career paths include roles as power utility technicians or field service specialists addressing electrical system issues and conducting performance evaluations on industrial electrical apparatus. Approximately 83% of graduates from 2017-2019 secured employment within half a year of completing the program.
