As global connections grow stronger, the demand for skilled translators increases: professionals with sharp intellects, cultural awareness, and the ability to thrive in varied work environments.
Aspiring translators must first achieve exceptional fluency in both French and English. Our program guides you in perfecting your target language while deepening your understanding of your source language.
Students select between two specialization tracks: English-dominant learners focus on French-to-English translation, while French-dominant students concentrate on English-to-French translation. Beyond core translation classes, you'll enhance your abilities through language studies, linguistics, and literature courses, achieving advanced reading and writing competence.
This program holds accreditation from the Canadian Association of Schools of Translation (CAT). Graduates earning a BA in Translation Specialization qualify for professional certification through Québec's Ordre des traducteurs, terminologues et interprètes agréés (OTTIAQ).
