Humans are inherently social beings. Our existence and demise are intertwined with our roles in society. Sociologists examine the fabric of societies in Canada and globally. Students acquire systematic approaches to observe, study, and evaluate social structures while critically examining societal issues and transformations.

From exploring personal identity to undertaking extensive research, our curriculum enables you to employ sociological methods across diverse contexts: human rights, gender studies, criminology, power dynamics, area studies, and digital realms.

As you examine behavioral patterns, social dynamics, and institutional structures, you'll also explore theories of societal transformation, deepening your understanding of issues like inequality, discrimination, and other systemic challenges.

Sociology's multifaceted approaches equip you to drive meaningful societal progress locally or internationally. Engage in practical community-based research. Examine sociological concepts through sustainability frameworks and worldwide shifts
