Forecast future scenarios, address risk-related challenges, and shape financial strategies that impact businesses, societies, and investment portfolios. This dual-degree program provides a streamlined route to becoming an actuary with expertise in financial services. The curriculum covers all essential Actuarial Mathematics components: mastering statistical analysis, probability theory, and quantitative modeling techniques to address unpredictable situations. Simultaneously, you'll integrate business fundamentals from the John Molson School of Business, including accounting, economic principles, and financial management, gaining expertise in evaluating how temporal factors, capital, and risk influence wealth accumulation.
The optional Co-op component allows you to collaborate with practicing actuaries on insurance systems, retirement programs, and employee benefit structures. Upon graduation, you'll join a high-demand profession seeking actuarial finance experts. Our curriculum holds provisional accreditation from the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (CIA). Successful graduates qualify for waivers on four entry-level professional examinations administered by both the Society of Actuaries and the Casualty Actuarial Society. The Society of Actuaries recognizes Concordia University as a Center of Actuarial Excellence.
