The Professional Writing Program meets the demand for context-specific writing through a distinctive blend of coursework and practical work experiences.
This initiative is a joint effort between the English Department and the School of Linguistics & Language Studies. Consequently, it merges theoretical frameworks from disciplines like genre analysis, discourse studies, and composition research with hands-on implementation across diverse professional settings and communication goals.

Admission
Students must normally have an undergraduate degree in the discipline or in a related discipline with an overall GPA of 8.00 or higher,
OR admission by permission of a department, school, or institute.
Students may be required to present completed university-level courses with minimum grade requirements.
Students may be granted advanced standing to a maximum of 1.0 credit. Advanced standing does not negate the 3.0 credit residency requirement.
IELTS - Overall 6.5 (minimum 6.0 in each band).
TOEFL iBT - 86 (20 in reading and listening, 22 in speaking and writing)
TOEFL PBT - overall score of 580.
