For over sixty years, the School of Public Policy and Administration has stood as Canada's premier institution for policy and administrative studies, fostering academic excellence while exploring government functions, motivations, and potential improvements. The Master of Public Policy and Administration (MPPA) offers a professionally oriented degree that thoroughly prepares graduates for diverse careers intersecting with the public sector, whether in government, private industry, or non-profit organizations.

The landscape of Indigenous policy and governance continues to evolve. Today's leaders must navigate emerging possibilities for nation-building and advancing social equity. Success in First Nations, Métis, and Inuit governance requires professionals to comprehend historical contexts, legal frameworks, economic factors, and political dynamics while skillfully integrating diverse cultural perspectives.

Our specialized Indigenous Policy and Administration offerings include both a Graduate Diploma and a concentration option within the MPPA program.

These programs share a foundational dedication to Indigenous self-governance, honoring the rich diversity of Indigenous cultural viewpoints. Students develop expertise in generating policy-relevant evidence and crafting implementation strategies that effectively mobilize stakeholders and resources. Through meaningful engagement with Indigenous communities, participants gain profound understanding of historical relationships between Canada and Indigenous peoples while learning to incorporate Indigenous knowledge systems into their professional practice.
