Biology is the scientific study of life in all its forms, examining everything from cellular molecular processes to thriving ecosystems across diverse habitats.
This two-year associate program offers comprehensive grounding in the dynamic and expanding disciplines of life sciences.
Our interdisciplinary, hands-on curriculum develops both theoretical knowledge and practical skills for careers in healthcare, biotechnology, environmental conservation, and resource management.
Learning objectives
Apply scientific methodology - formulate hypotheses; anticipate results; gather, assess and interpret data; create and analyze charts and diagrams; reach valid conclusions; adjust predictions and recognize areas needing further study.
Master essential lab procedures - execute designed experiments, handle lab instruments, perform specimen dissections.
Effectively convey scientific knowledge - produce annotated references, compose research papers and lab documentation.
Understand and utilize fundamental biological principles including evolution, anatomical relationships, genetic information transfer, energy conversions, and ecological system interactions.
High school graduation
A minimum grade point average of 2.0 (60%) calculated on English Studies 12 or English 12 or English First Peoples 12 and two academic Grade 12 courses
