The Department of Recreation and Leisure Studies provides four-year degree options, including an Honours Bachelor's and a Major Bachelor's program in Recreation and Leisure Studies. Additionally, a three-year Pass degree is available. These programs equip graduates for diverse careers in leisure services.
The Community Recreation curriculum develops leadership skills for the community sector through courses covering organizational management, financial planning, marketing strategies, program design, and research methods. Special focus is given to public and non-profit environments, with strong emphasis on community building and serving diverse populations, especially youth and underserved groups. Practical experience through fieldwork and community involvement is integrated into the program.
