Recreation therapy is a fulfilling profession that delivers enriching leisure experiences to enhance wellbeing across all age groups and ability levels. Practitioners in this field provide comprehensive services, from evaluating individual requirements to designing customized programs, establishing objectives, leading group sessions, and assessing treatment outcomes.
This two-year curriculum immerses students in recreation therapy principles and the five dimensions of wellness (physical, mental, intellectual, interpersonal, and spiritual) to create personalized recreational initiatives. Learners also gain expertise in multiple healthcare fields including health sciences, movement studies, physical rehabilitation, occupational health, and behavioral science, while mastering methods to analyze, design, execute, and appraise recreational and instructional programs.
