The Department of Child and Youth Studies (CHYS) provides four-year Honours BA and Major BA programs, a three-year Pass BA degree, and a combined Honours BA/BEd (Primary-Junior) program. These interdisciplinary programs examine both theoretical and practical aspects of childhood and youth development within diverse contexts including cultural, economic, legal, familial, educational, social, and community spheres. Drawing from psychology, sociology, anthropology, criminology, education, and cultural studies, our academic approach synthesizes multiple disciplines to foster a holistic understanding of children and youth development.
