The Centre for Canadian Studies provides a co-major option (allowing you to combine Canadian Studies with another discipline like History, English, French, Popular Culture, Geography, or Political Science). Alternatively, students can pursue Canadian Studies as a minor to complement their primary degree program at Brock.
Located near the Canada-U.S. border in a historically rich area encompassing Indigenous heritage, settler history, and the pivotal War of 1812 that shaped Canadian identity, Brock's Centre for Canadian Studies offers an exceptional environment to examine the complex, evolving nature of Canadian society and its global relationships.
As a Canadian Studies student, you'll gain comprehensive knowledge about Canada while honing advanced research and communication abilities. The program teaches interdisciplinary problem-solving methods and examines both domestic and global viewpoints on issues impacting Canada. Additionally, you'll have access to regional conferences, cross-border events, and potential international exchange opportunities with partner institutions.
