The Centre for Canadian Studies provides a co-major option (allowing you to combine Canadian Studies with another discipline like History, English, French, Popular Culture, Geography, or Political Science). Alternatively, students can pursue Canadian Studies as a minor to complement their primary degree program at Brock.
Located near the Canada-U.S. border in a historically rich area encompassing Indigenous heritage, settler history, and pivotal events like the War of 1812 that shaped Canadian identity, Brock's Centre for Canadian Studies offers an exceptional environment to examine the dynamic and complex nature of Canadian society and its global relationships.
As a Canadian Studies student, you'll gain comprehensive knowledge about Canada while honing advanced research and communication abilities. The program emphasizes interdisciplinary problem-solving techniques and examines both domestic and global viewpoints on contemporary issues. Additional opportunities include attending regional and international conferences, as well as potential study abroad programs with partner institutions.
