When evaluating music programs across North America, prospective students frequently inquire how Bishop's B.A. Music degree compares to other institutions. Our B.A. Major program aligns academically with most Bachelor of Music degrees, while our B.A. Honours has gained recognition from graduate schools throughout Canada and the United States as being on par with a B.Mus. The fundamental music courses at Bishop's mirror those offered at other universities. What sets us apart are our intimate class settings and supportive, collaborative atmosphere that nurtures both artistic growth and personal confidence. Many students forge enduring friendships during their time at Bishop's - relationships we consider among our greatest successes. Our department attracts students nationally and internationally, enriched further by Quebec's distinctive cultural influence throughout campus. This multicultural blend creates a dynamic and stimulating environment for musical education.

The following requirements should be used as a guideline to be considered competitive for admissions consideration. Applicants who do not meet the posted requirements may be considered on an individual basis. In those cases, the Admissions Office may request additional information in addition to that indicated below.
