This Ontario College Graduate Certificate program equips students with skills for careers in design research and strategy. Specialists in this domain explore how ethnographic research, experience design, emerging technologies, and business needs converge to formulate data-driven approaches that guide product, policy, system, and service development. Through direct collaboration with corporations, government agencies, and nonprofit groups, students tackle intricate human-centered challenges. Hands-on projects apply design principles, investigative techniques, and collaborative design processes to analyze problem areas and prototype potential solutions.
Participants may also opt for practical experience via paid cooperative education (co-op) placements (refer to Additional Information section). Availability of co-op positions depends on both program openings and academic performance. Note that acceptance into the co-op program doesn't ensure placement opportunities.
